TOWER HOUSE GARDEN STUDIO

The Tower House Studio was designed to sit in the grounds of a Grade A listed, early 16th Century, Scottish tower house. The brief was to provide a space to compliment the tower house's dramatic interior with its  traditional small, deep  windows that let in  limited daylight.

The cabin's front elevation is set back and angled to face south, creating a light filled space offering  new views: south to the tower, east across the valley,  upwards through a long  skylight for star gazing. As a nod to the tower, a tiny secret stair leads to the rooftop and a panoramic view across the valley. A brise soleil keeps the interior cool on hot sunny days.
