The tiny, self contained 'Tree Hoose'  at Taigh a Chnuic was engineered by Echo to be airlifted onto the steep, woodland site overlooking Loch Broom in the Highlands of Scotland. 

 

The  prefabricated structure is composed of five individual sections, each one engineered to weigh less than 1 tonne. Air lifted on to the platform, each of the sections were then assembled to form an open plan space complete with self contained accommodation.

The Tree Hoose's minimal floor area of18.5m2   is ingeniously planned to provide four activity spaces - the built in double bed; kitchen; shower room; sitting room - all arranged around the central space with wood burner and two central roof lights. Large picture windows to each space  frame views of the  woodland, the loch and mountains beyond., and there is a small balcony off the sitting room  for sitting out amongst the trees.

The Nordpan walls and timber finishes  provide a warm backdrop for  a classical  monochrome interior in black and grey finishes. Origin doors entrance and the other to a balcony

Fixtures and fittings include a convertible window seat/ daybed; built in double bed;  kitchen unit with black Formica ColorCore worktop, black sink  and tap, hob and oven, and under counter fridge.

 

The fully fitted shower room has  floor to ceiling window with floating console in black  Formica ColorCore;   Arezzo curved basin and high rise tap tap in black; Swift micro venetian blinds in Flint grey; and back to wall WC. 

 

Light fittings include a pair of Anglepoise Original 1227 hanging lights in grey over the  bed; Nordlux Strap Lights in black  to  the central space; and Nordlux Sway 11 pendant lights to the  kitchen unit. Recessed LEDs are positioned throughout.

The  dramatic Tree Hoose exterior is clad in random width, black stained Siberian Larch with black corrugate tin panels.
